Korvin’s Gambit

Clearing Family Matters

“What he did, he thought that it was the right thing to do. I have no problems with that.”

  • Korvin asks the party about their plan to get out of here. The party does not share any information; Korvin warns them that travel between planes is no trivial matter. Korvin looks at the party’s wizard, Splix, and condescendingly asks him if he knows the way out of the Labyrinthus.
  • Korvin approaches a shallow recess on the wall and sits on it. Korvin tells the party that he will stay there and wait until the party wants his help.
  • Adeena approaches Kiris and tells him that she will respect his decision to take with Korvin whatever it may be.

Kiris and Adikia talk to Korvin

“Make no mistake, being a Lordknight is not inherited through blood. So if no one takes the mantle, then there would be no killing.”

  • Korvin also adds, with disdain, that he will not be the Wayravens’ Lordknight.

Kirren’s Worries

Splix’s Doubts

  • Fiamil talks to Splix about who just appeared. Splix tells her that it was Kristofer’s lost brother, Korvin.
  • Fiamil worries about what the future holds. Splix comforts Fiamil.
  • Kirren approaches Splix and ask him details about the plan to get out of the Labyrinthus.
  • Splix tells Kirren that the scholars know more about the details. Splix and Kirren decide to talk to the scholars.
  • Splix talk to the scholars about the teleportation spell to get out of the Labyrinthus. As Professor Aufel and Professor Embersense converse, it becomes evident that there was miscommunication between the two: they thought that the other knows the specific spell that could teleport them between planes.
  • The professors save face by explaining that they thought that they would go back to the Material Plane. Then, a simple teleport spell, which both the professors knew, would suffice to teleport them into Elvin’s location.
  • Splix gathers the party to divulge the professors’ lapse. Arc opts to guard Korvin.
