Post-Interrogation Blues

Kirren informs the party about Auriel’s whereabouts. She tells them that a man, fitting the description of Auriel, is spotted going in and out of the Grand Cathedral in Foenyx.
Kiris notices that Kirren is exhausted. He tells her to rest. Kirren worries about relying on the party.
The party meets up with Theobald, Thoradin and Adikia. Enraged, Adikia asks for an explanation from Arc. Arc dismisses her, claiming that he too does not know or remember what he, Moon and Vanayra did.
Adikia walks away from the party. Kiris follows Adikia, and successfully persuades her to help the party find Auriel.

Splix and company successfully integrated the Emerald of Protection Gem into the Bloated Dragon. The magic gem casts a shell-like magical barrier that prevents magic from passing through the barrier.

After getting Splix from the Ironfleet Compound, the party heads to Foenyx.
Kiris stops by Geraldt’s store and trades back his gold for the citrine gemstone. Geraldt persuades Kiris to inscribe the gem on a ring. Geraldt tries to sell the three diamonds worth 300 gp each to Kiris. Kiris asks Geraldt to wait.
Kiris exits the shop and goes to Doe Nutt Lapidary Services, a shop that cuts and inscribes gemstones to metal jewelry. He talks to Doe Nutt, and asks for the citrine gem to be set on a ring. Kiris receives a Ring of Lightning Resistance and pays 100 gp for the service.
Adikia asks Doe Nutt to fashion a pair of earrings from her garnet gem. Adikia pays Doe Nutt 120 gp and receives Earrings of Fire Resistance.
Kiris, Adikia, Thoradin and Theobald enter Geraldt’s store store. They buy the three diamonds for 700 gp and a piece of the Aureate Rapier.

The party is stopped by two guards on the way to the Grand Cathedral. Noah correctly assumes that the guards are from Ankyra. The guards inform the party that they have been expecting them.
The party enters the Grand Cathedral and spots nothing amiss. Thoradin descends into the catacombs and immediately, the smell of sulfur assaults his senses. He uses his Divine Sense ability, but he senses nothing.
Thoradin and Adeena see Auriel on a spell circle casting a spell in front of a sarcophagus. Thoradin correctly surmises that the spell circle is for a summoning spell. The two push Auriel away from the circle, and a combat ensues.

During the battle, a Horned Devil emerges from the sarcophagus. Auriel warns and taunts that the party is too late: Calyxius’s Herald will arrive soon. The fiend warns the party:

“I sense a forfeited soul!”

Kiris casts Hold Person on Auriel, making him paralyzed for the whole fight. Other members of the party assault the Horned Devil.
The Horned Devil brings forth two Chained Devils. The Chained Devils attempt to chain down both Adikia and Auriel.
The party defeats the Horned Devil and successfully fends off its attempt to capture Adikia and Auriel.
